Ali

Isolation and grief replaced by joy and friendship

When Ali lost his daughter and his marriage broke down, he found himself living alone on the streets.

‍

On the streets Ali's life was difficult. Sleeping on the streets and in train stations brought instability and hardship every day. All Ali's usual routines – a job, daily meals, and things to look forward to – faded away after being homeless for so long.

Joining Just Homes brought back a sense of happiness, care and normal life: he ate food cooked for him, meals that he particularly loves. He received a gift for Christmas for the first time. Weekly discussion meetings brought him friendships, and he made goals for his future life with mentors.

After two years with Just Homes, Ali now has a job and is moving out to live independently again. Though it was a scary process, now he has joy in his new life.
