Shah had not felt safe in a home for a very long time. At the height of Covid, he found himself homeless.

Experience led Shah not to trust people. On the street, he was isolated and lived with constant instability. Despite that, he tried to get off the streets, but his previous attempts led him to hostile places where he would be locked into his room, with bars on the windows.

When he came to Just Homes, he experienced freedom. Friendly, trustworthy staff helped him to open up. He built relationships with other members where they split chores, and he built good house maintenance habits. They helped him with financial planning and the practical steps of finding accommodation and work.

Shah lives in his own home now, and he feels happier than he has done in a long time. Even though it's nerve-wracking, he trusts people and lives freely.
