John lived in homelessness after returning to the UK with no security and no money.

John returned to the UK living a life of survival and constant relocation after several years abroad. He had nothing – he lost his house, his wife, and living homeless in the winter led to illness and depression.

Then John was introduced to Just Homes by The Source charity. He didn't have to jump through hoops; he was simply welcomed. A shower, heating, food. He could stay long-term and no longer be turfed from place to place. Previous Just Homes members mentored him, and John learnt to save and prepare for his first home with a starter pack.

He felt love and safety for the first time in a long time. Now John lives independently in his own flat. He eats every day and enjoys it, and he is living safely as he undergoes cancer treatment.
