Karwan

War in his home country forced Karwan into over 10 years of displacement and fear, but he was determined to create a better life for himself.

‍

Born, raised and forced to leave Syria when war broke out, Karwan spent many difficult years as a refugee in Iraq. The reality of leaving your life and livelihood turned his life upside down, but his determination to create a better life for himself led him to the UK.

Just Homes gave Karwan the support to return to studying: he took ESOL courses and set himself the goal of building an automobile engineering career. He works a part-time job and achieved a huge personal goal by passing his UK driving test and buying a car.

Now Karwan is preparing to move out: his own home, with his own car. It takes strength and resilience to build a life in the wake of war and displacement. And Karwan experienced the impact of the right support at the right time.
